Thank god I work for a liquor brand because I’m going to need it (minus the fact that I’ll be spending my month promoting chocolate themed cocktails for all the lovers out there). Who needs a man when you have alcohol? Not me.
PS: If by chance a nice young man asks me out to dinner next week, my feelings towards Valentine’s Day will be completely different. Yes, I’m being hypocritical and I don’t care what anyone has to say about it. I’m 24, single and surrounded by a city full of guys who don’t even want to acknowledge the word “Valentine”.
If you’re single, do not read this article. If you’re not single, please click the link and understand why us single people are so annoyed with the trial and error of dating and why it almost seems hopeless.
Facebook does not constitute getting to know someone. Stalking photos and reading old comments does not replace intimate conversation. If you have someone’s phone number, pick up the phone and call them; texting is so annoying and emotionless.
That is all.
I can tell based on New Year’s Eve alone.
Last year I was so broke from my bullshit internship that I had to find a one-off cocktail job for NYE so I could pay my January rent. I had several fun opportunities to go out and ring in the new year with friends — even my mom told me to have fun and she’d help me financially if I needed it. This sounds like a no-brainer but I couldn’t do it! I couldn’t keep asking my parents for help. This move was my opportunity to live independently and find a way to make things work on my own. In short, I tried out this thing called responsibility and I spent NYE serving cocktails — made my entire rent money in one night!
This year, I spent NYE partying with some of my best friends. Instead of stressing out over money or spending the night working, I bought new shoes (which happened to be Gucci AND 70% off at Saks’ annual end of the year mark downs) and went out for drinks. January also marks 6 months of working a job that I absolutely LOVE!!!
Can’t wait to see what else 2013 has in store for me!
